Most of the Chitwan packages include a tour of the park on elephants. It provides an excellent opportunity for tourists to enjoy the views of the Churia and Someshwar hills, Ox bow lakes and Reu, Rapti and Narayani rivers as well as to view the animals from the closest possible distance.

Some of the endangered species found here include the one horned rhinos, the gharial crocodiles, the wild Asian elephants, the striped Hyenas and the royal Bengal tigers. Some of the birds found in the sanctuary are the Bengal floricans, black stork, white storks, pea fowls, herons and kingfishers.
Some highlights of the tours are canoeing, camping, fishing, elephant rides and guided jungle walks. While in the park, you can try out the library at Kasara Sauraha, the view towers and the display center.
Accommodation and Transportation:
You can reach the park by car or bus through the Kathmandu Mugling Narayanghat highway or the Mahendra Rajmarg highway. Flights are available till Meghauli and Bharatpur from Kathmandu. Local busses are available till the park head quarters.
