Tourist Attractions

Mukundgarh Fort Mandawa is a historical town, located in Rajasthan, amidst the rugged zones of Aravallis. The glory and the grandeur of the yesteryears is very much evident when you visit Mandawa. The rich history of Mandawa is reflected in the large number of havelis and forts found there. These havelis itself are the greatest tourist attractions of Mandawa.

These Mandawa havelis have intricate frescoes carved on the walls. Some even have beautiful pictures adorned on them. Earlier precious gems were also embedded on the walls. Some of the notable havelis are the Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Murmuria Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli and Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli.

While the Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli depicts Indian Male deities like Lord Shiva and Indra Dev, the Goenka double Haveli has a beautiful portico which is decorated with stunning paintings of horses and elephants. Another interesting feature of the Murmuria Haveli is the pictures of political leaders of fame like Jawaharlal Nehru and a train at a level crossing. Royal portraits can be found on the Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli. These unique features of each of the havelis make them one of the most sought after tourist attractions of Mandawa.

Another famous tourist attraction in Mandawa is the beautiful Mandawa Fort. This was constructed by the Shekhawati ruler, Nawal Singh in the year 1797. Arched doorways, beautifully painted murals and paintings, pictures of mythological characters all are featured on the fort. The township of Mandawa is also built around the Mandawa fort. At present the fort is not just a Mandawa tourist attraction, but has been converted into one of the heritage hotels of Rajasthan.

During your Mandawa tours, you can also go for excursions to places like Nawalgarh, Parsurampura, Mukundgarh, Dundlod, Fatehpur and Jhunjhunu. Nawalgarh has many renowned havelis like Bhagton Ki Haveli, Aandi Lal Poddar, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli and Aath Haveli. Some of the oldest paintings of Shekhawati region can be found in Parsurampura. Mukundgarh also boasts of having some fabulous havelis and forts. The major attractions of Dundlod are the Satyanarayan Temple, Jagathia Haveli, Dundlod Fort and Palace.
