The history about Ludhiana is quite rich and takes us to the times when Yodha, Gupta and Rajput rulers used to reign over this place. The city witnessed lots of battles and clashes between the various empires for power and growth. It is said that Ludhiana derived its name from the Lodhi Dynasty around 1480 AD.
