The Laya Trek generally includes the crossing of the 4900 meter Shinge La. It is a well-established trail from the Paro Valley to Thimpu through the small settlement of Laya and the Punakha valley is considered to be one of the finest treks in the world. It offers you captivating sceneries including farmlands, rhododendron forests, green pastures and the majestic peaks of Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake. Situated amid the medieval dzongs, the lovely village of Laya, adjacent to the Tibetan border offers several options of cultural interests on the way. Finally it is just a perfect icing on the cake to follow the Punakha Gorge, through the imposing medieval dzongs and refreshing hot springs at Gasa.

The Bumthang cultural trek takes you through the splendid countryside of Bumthang. You get an alluring opportunity to exploit your finer senses by observing and absorbing the culture of Bhutanese rural life. Travel from Thimpu for a picturesque drive to Tongsa through Dochula pass (3050 m.) to woo the extraordinary views of the highest peak in Bhutan. This excursion includes visits to the historical Jakar Dzong constructed in the 17th century by the first religious king of Bhutan.
