The Rajasthan horse safari is the best way to explore this magical land. The Shekhawati region of Rajasthan is famous for its breeds of horses that have been an integral part of the lives of the local people for several centuries. The Shekhawati horse safaris are getting increasingly popular among tourists. These safaris take tourists to places where motor vehicles cannot go. However, the real objective of any horse safari in Rajasthan is to let the tourists relive the lives of the medieval Rajputs who once galloped through the trails and tracks through the jungles of Rajasthan. The horse safaris are attracting a large number of tourists with each passing year, and hence, are fast becoming important part of tourism in Rajasthan.

The typical Rajasthan horse safari commences at Nawalgarh, in Shekhawati, and terminates at Salasar. En route various interesting and picturesque locations are covered, including Naharsinghani, Churi Ajitgarh, Mandawa, Mojas, Nangli, Dhakas, Mehansar, Takalsar, Fatehpur, Bibipur, Badi Roru, and Ganeri. The trips usually take 8 days, and including accommodation at tents pitched at well chosen locations. A typical Rajasthan horse safari itinerary would be like the following

Day 1 Nawalgarh to Churi Ajitgarh via Naharsinghani - 35 km
Day 2 Churi Ajitgarh to Mojas via Mandawa - 26 km.
Day 3 Mojas to Dhakas via Nangli - 35 km.
Day 4 Dhakas to Takalsar via Mehansar - 35 km.
Day 5 Takalsar to Fatehpur - 30 km.
Day 6 Fatehpur to Badi Roru via Bibipur - 33 km.
Day 7 Badi Roru to Ganeri via Talab - 30 km.
Day 8 Ganeri to Salasar - 22 km.

Tourists should note that there may be occasional variations from the above mentioned itinerary. The safaris are accompanied by a complete retinue of support staff that includes expert riders, guides, horse trainers, cooks, medical personnel, security personnel, managers, tent bearers, and entertainers.

The lunch halts are well chosen, and compliment the sumptuous meals offered. At night, authentic Rajasthani food will delight you while you are treated to fabulous displays of traditional folk performances presented by the entertainers.
