Gandhi Museum:

Nehru Museum:
Known as the Teen Murti Bhavan, this beautiful colonial structure was the residence of Jwahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. The museum contains excellent exhibits like photographs, personal articles and other artifacts that offer an insight into the eventful life of the much loved and respected Pundit Nehru, as he was popularly known as. The Nehru planetarium is also located here and is equally interesting. The palatial building is in itself a major attraction.

National Rail museum:
This is one of the most famous tourist attractions of New Delhi. This unique museum displays the coaches and engines used from the very beginning of railways in India in mid 19th century. The grand luxurious coaches used by erstwhile royalty as well as some of the oldest locomotives of the world are included in the exhibits here. Among the most famous exhibits are the Viceregal Dining Car, the Prince of Wales Saloon, Maharaja of Mysore's Saloon and Maharaja of Baroda's Saloon, all belonging to the late 19th century. The locomotives and coaches are displayed in the open and can be seen from the nearby bridge as well. There is a gallery inside the museum that provides interesting factual info about Indian railways. Fairy Queen, the world�s oldest running locomotive, was also on display here until it was reintroduced to commercial service recently.

Archaeological Museum:
This museum is located within the historic Red Fort. It is a must visit spot for tourists who want to learn about the history of Delhi. On exhibition here are a number of Mughul artifacts, including documents, clothing, weapons, coins, jewellery, and paintings. The relics of the fierce battle fought at the fort in 1857 are some of the most interesting exhibits of this museum.

National Museum of Natural history:
This museum has been established to educate people, particularly the younger generation, about our ecology and how to protect it. The galleries here are full of artifacts showcasing the immense natural resources of the Earth. An activity area for the children makes this museum entertaining for the entire family.
