A visit to India is incomplete without a visit to the important religious places of the country. The religious tours of India include several itineraries that include visits to the most famous temples, mosques and churches of the country. The most revered religious places in India are near the Himalayas in the northern states of Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The tour of Chardham (four pilgrimage centers) is one of the most important pilgrimages undertaken by the Hindus of India. Besides having tremendous religious importance, a tour itinerary of Chardham involves traveling through beautiful hilly terrain and visits to some of the most fascinating places in India. The four places included in the tour of Chardham are Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath. The tours have to follow the traditional path, starting from Yamunotri, moving on to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally, Badrinath.
